Chris January 14, 2022

Many people are concerned about the privacy and security of their social media profiles. This makes sense as there is a lot of personal information that we share with our friends, family, and followers on these platforms. Most importantly, social media accounts have become an integral part of our daily lives.

Facebook is no exception to this rule. If you’re ready to delete your account or deactivate it for any reason, you should take care to avoid accidentally sharing your personal information publicly on other sites or accounts. Here’s how to make sure that you delete your account safely before permanently deactivating it.

How to Delete or Deactivate Facebook Account Safely

Why do people want to delete their Facebook account?

Many people want to delete their Facebook accounts for various reasons. Sometimes it’s because the amount of time spent on social media is interfering with other aspects of their lives, like work or school. Other times, it’s because they just don’t care about social media anymore and want to take a break from it. Whatever the reason, here are some tips to help you delete your account safely and securely.

First, make sure you back up all of your information before you delete your account:

Back up your photos in case something goes wrong during the deletion process

Back up all of your profile information in case there is something important you want to save

Next, remember that deleting an account can’t be undone once you’ve done so. You’ll have to go through the process of reactivating the website and restoring all of your old posts and content from scratch if you change your mind later down the line. This can be time-consuming and frustrating if you’re not prepared for it ahead of time.

Finally, deactivate your account first. This will allow users who still have active accounts to continue using them without experiencing any complications or issues with their Facebook data being deleted. Once those users are gone, then you can finally delete your account

In order to do this, you’ll first need to log out of your Facebook account. This will ensure that no one else can access your account and post anything on your behalf. Once you’re logged out, go to the top right corner of the screen and select “Deactivate Account.” Then click “Confirm” and let the process take care of itself!

Make sure your personal information is protected before deleting your account

Before you delete your account, make sure that your personal information is protected.

To do this, log in to the social media account associated with your Facebook and make sure to set up a privacy setting that will help you protect your personal information.

Facebook’s privacy settings include four main options:

Select “Only Me” to make sure only you can view and share your posts on Facebook. You’ll also be able to see what other people post about you on their public news feed.

Select “Friends” if you want just your friends or family members to be able to view and share everything about you publically on Facebook, as well as all of your posts.

Select “Friends of Friends” if you want just those who are connected to your friends or family members on Facebook to see all of the posts about you. This option will not allow any strangers from the internet or outside social networks access to any of your content, including photos and videos.

Select “Public” if you want all users who are not connected with someone else on Facebook will have access to everything posted by others about you. If this is the option that best protects what’s most important for you, use it!

Keep some of your info for a personal profile on other sites.

If you have a personal profile on other sites, such as Instagram or Tinder, make sure that your account remains active.

Keep this information private but be sure to delete it from your main Facebook profile before permanently deleting your account.

Conclusion

If you want to delete or deactivate your Facebook account, there are a few things that you’ll need to do. Make sure your personal information is protected before deleting your account and remember to delete everything else from your Facebook account that you might be keeping for a personal profile on other sites.
