This is an Adwords tutorial to improve the very first step of yuor Google Adwords campaigns.
Your Google Adwords ad is very important. It’s more or less the main asset you’ve got to work with. You don’t have a lot of space, so you need to get your message understood quickly.
Start off your ad with a specific result all benefit that the person will get by clicking on your ad. Are you solving a problem? You can literally write ‘problem solved’ in your ad and that will increase your CTR.
You could let people know that you are solving a problem, in plenty of different ways:
* Get out of debt
* Interest-free for 12 months
* Unlimited warranty
* Immediate access
* Free delivery etc
You can also talk about stopping people from making mistakes:
* Have you made this mistake?
* Could you be making this mistake?
* Avoid this mistake etc
People don’t like to make mistakes. They have pride, and don’t like taking falls. They will pay good money for solutions.
It is your job as a marketer to justify their failures. They will relate to you if you allow them to escape their failures. Tell them it’s not their fault and you will instantly have an interested audience.
This sort of ad needs to be aimed at a victim type of buyer. They will be looking for help. Your aim should be to provide that help by solving their problem.
You’ll need to remove the fear from the reader. Money back guarantees, 100% full cover and lifetime guarantees are good things to tell people about.
If you are aiming ads at particularly suspicious people, then you can put that in your ad as well. Phrases like ‘ have you been misled’ etc can get the attention of suspicious people. They like to know they are right and you need to cater for this.
Another benefit you can provide is to help people beat their competitors. A simple phrase like ’beat your competitors’ or ‘make sure the competition doesn’t read this first’ can help you in this case.
Remember, people are only interested in what they can get. So each one of your ads needs to pass the ‘what’s in it for me’ test. Every time you speak to a user, imagine if they are always asking themselves that question. ‘What’s in it for me? What’s in it for me?’ Whatever you’re saying should be answering this question.
The prospect is always looking for something for themselves. Tell them benefits of what ever you are trying to sell. They are selfish. They don’t care about what you’re trying to sell. All they care about is how is it going to help them. That’s it. Speak directly to that selfish person within them, and make your affiliate product very appealing.
Here are a few more words and phrases which will help you with this.
Discover – this is a great word to use in a headline. People are curious. They like to discover things. They liked to be excited. A new discovery will excite their curiosity.
Learn – this is a good word to use if you have an educational product. You can also ask people ‘Did you know this?’ and it will also get them curious.
Here’s a view more ‘power’ words you to think about using:
* Fed up
You also need to add a call to action in your ad. This is basically giving the reader a direct command to do something. ‘Read this now’ is a good example. Another one I like to use is ‘download in minutes’. You would use that if you are giving away a free report or something similar.
It’s also a good thing to let the reader know that there is some sort of limited aspect with your offer. Try and create some sort of urgency. A quantity or time limit is a good method to use (but if you use it make sure it’s true).
The bottom line
Remember, PPC marketing is a step-by-step process to attract someone to your website.
Once someone clicks on your ad it’s important that your landing page delivers more of whatever you promised in your ad.
I think of this process as the PPC slide. I’ll give you a little insight as to how this slide actually runs.
Let’s think about exactly how a Google Adwords ad works:
The trick to successful PPC campaigns is to make sure that each one of the four steps above are really consistent with each other.
If you can do that then you’re bound to make a good profit with PPC.
